Merven “Sonny” Rogers, Jr., 84 years old went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, December 4, 2021.
Services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, with Dr. Gil Lain and Jim Allison officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Sonny was born in Gorman, TX, and spent the last 60 years in Amarillo. He was a faithful member and deacon at PBC.
In Sonny’s early years, he owned and operated MJ Rogers Cattle Co. In 1974, Sonny was ordained into God’s Ministry and served for many years. To finish his career, he worked for Affiliated Foods until retiring.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Merven J. Rogers, SR., and Ann D. McIntyre; baby daughter, Jean; son, Johnny Rogers, and Marvin James “Babe” Rogers.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Tanya Rogers; daughter, Pam Miller and husband Mike of Weatherford, TX; daughter in law Vickye Rogers sister, Martha Jordan of Wildorado, TX; six grandkids, 14 great-grandkids; 5 half-brothers, and 2 half-sisters.
