God celebrated Barbara O’Bryant’s arrival in Heaven on November 8, 2020.
Services will be a private memorial at 9:00 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Jerad Middaugh officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery in Happy, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Barbara Nell Lewis O’Bryant was born April 23, 1933, in Shamrock, TX to Claude and Gladys Lewis. She graduated from Dumas High School and married Dennis Cleve O’Bryant on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1951. They celebrated their sixty-nine-year anniversary remotely this past April. They lived many years in Stinnett, TX where they raised their children. They relocated to Amarillo from Hugoton, KS after Dennis retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. in 1990. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at South Lawn Assembly for approximately twenty-five years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis in September; her brother Kenneth Lewis; and granddaughters, Shelby Stevens and Janice O’Bryant.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Davis and husband Tommy of Amarillo, TX; son, Dennis O’Bryant and wife Sharon of Borger, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer Suhr and husband Jared of Colorado Springs, CO, Ky Stevens of Aurora, CO, Andrew O’Bryant of Denver, CO; her sisters, Claudette Downs of Bakersfield, CA, Sandra Grubbs, and Linda “WooWoo” Crossley, both of Westcliffe, CO.
The family wants to thank the caregivers and staff at the Amarillo Center for Skilled Care.
