
Joe Dee Miskimen, 81, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on January 20, 2022.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Joe Dee was born in Kansas City, Kansas on February 27, 1940, to Judson Harvey and Eithyl Marie Miskimen. He graduated from Kirwin High School in Galveston, Texas in 1960. He also attended Alvin Junior College in Alvin, Texas, and Amarillo College.
Joe Dee enlisted in the United States Airforce on January 15, 1963, and would go on to be honorably discharged on January 13, 1967. He was employed by Southwestern Public Service Company and Utility Engineering Company for 25 years as a Mechanical Design Draftsman.
Joe Dee was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Cory Miskimen and wife Michelle of Amarillo and Jared Miskimen and Tracie of Amarillo, a granddaughter, Kali Miskimen, five grandsons, Nicholas Miskimen, Ethan Miskimen, Daniel Miskimen, Andrew Miskimen, and Joshua Miskimen all of Amarillo and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made in honor of Joe Dee to the Alzheimer’s Association, Home office, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Ill 60601.
Joe Dee worked with me at Utility Engineering from the time UE was formed until I retired ten years later. I remember him as a kind, positive and pleasant team player, always willing to go the extra mile to meet a project milestone. Darlene’s and my condolences to his family.
