Juanita Cobb Hamilton, 100, of Amarillo, TX died September 16, 2020.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Will Esler officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Juanita was born in Marshall, TX on February 19, 1920, to MaeDee and Monroe Cobb. She married Maenard Hamilton on May 22, 1937; they were married for 61 years. In 1946, Maenard and Juanita moved to Amarillo. Juanita was a housewife who enjoyed taking care of their two children, Judy, and John.

Juanita was a board member of the Cancer Society and Red Cross. She was one of three organizers at St. Anthony’s Auxiliary, and served as the Auxiliary President for two years. Juanita was a charter member of the Women’s Republican Party and St. Luke Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed volunteering, golfing, boating, waterskiing, and RV’ing. She was very proud of accomplishing a hole in one at Amarillo Country Club.

Juanita was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maenard Hamilton in 1998; daughter, Judy Hamilton Walsh in 1998; and daughter-in-law, Carola Hamilton in 2019.

She is survived by her son, John Hamilton; grandchildren, Don Rhode, and Matt Hamilton and wife Whitney; and six great-grandchildren.

The family request that memorial be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Amarillo Children’s Home, 3400 Bowie St., Amarillo, TX 79109, or Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2525 Wimberly Rd., Amarillo, TX 79109.
