Sandra Jean Simmons, 83, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, March 11, 2021.
Services will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Sandra was born July 30, 1937, in Harmon County, OK to James Terald and Glen Mildred Byrd Boyd. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1956 and within the same year began a 45-year career at the processing station (MEPS) for military enlistment.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Charles Dennis Simmons.
Survivors include her children, Debra Pate and spouse Virgil, Kevin (Butch) Smith, and Cody Simmons and spouse Brenda, all of Amarillo; grandchildren, Kara Kennedy and spouse Chad, Trent Walker, and Aydin Simmons; great-grandchild, Pate Kennedy; a sister, Frances Otto, of Hollis, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extend thanks to Virginia Grien and her staff for providing such great care of Sandra for the past 3 ½ years.
