Helen Elizabeth Taylor Sachse, 94, of Amarillo, TX died July 10, 2021.

Celebration of life services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Helen Elizabeth Taylor Sachse of Amarillo, TX was born May 23, 1927, in Friona, TX to Earsel and Grace Boatman Taylor.  She was one of six children and was a state champion in basketball for the Friona Chieftains.

She went to hairdressing school and moved to Canyon, TX where she started her career making people beautiful.  While in Canyon, TX she met the love of her life, Billy Joe Sachse.  They married July 25, 1959.  They soon were blessed to have a daughter, Melissa Petree, of Dallas, TX and moved to Amarillo where she started her own hairdressing shop.

Helen and Billy Joe took on many challenges and blessings.  In 1980, they took on one more with their granddaughter, Amanda Haley, of Amarillo, TX.  Whatever life threw at them they always knew God and their faith in him would guide them.  They were members of Paramount Baptist Church for many years.  With her faith, she was the best wife, mother, nanny, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, and friend she could be.  She always was an awesome listener and always had words of encouragement.  The world lost an angel, but heaven gained one.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Parkinson.org.
