Mary Juanita Poole Burnett, 80, of Amarillo, Tx passed away on March 10, 2022.
Services will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Texline. Burial will be at Texline Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brother Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mary Juanita Poole Burnett was born on December 28th, 1941, in Helena, AR to Walter Poole and Ethel McNair Poole. Mary who preferred to go by Juanita, was the only daughter of 4 and loved her 3 brothers: Jack, Donny, and Perry dearly. She grew up and lived in Helena, AR until she met John “JB” Burnett. The two fell in love and were married December 25th, 1968, in Arkansas. They moved out to Texline, TX where they opened a coffee shop and enjoyed raising their large family. After the passing of JB, Juanita relocated to Amarillo, TX and for a brief time to Guymon, OK, until moving back to Amarillo, TX. Juanita loved all animals as well as snakes and spiders, true crime television, reading, and most importantly her family. She would take in friends, neighborhood children, and neighbors making sure they never left her house hungry. She was the true definition of a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include brothers, Jack Poole of Bethel Springs, TN, and Donald Poole of Porter, TX; daughter, Perria Burnett of Amarillo, TX; son, Maddison LaFever of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Deuna LaFever-Sandburg of Oklahoma City, OK, Leslie LaFever of Arkansas, Hunter LaFever of Arkansas, Colby Burnett of Amarillo, TX, Jericah Kent of Amarillo, TX, Ashlie Gregory of Amarillo, TX, Sydnie Gregory of Dallas, TX, and Zackary Ziegenhirt of Guymon, OK; great-grandchildren, Tearnie Ruiz of Oklahoma City, OK, Tristan Gist of Oklahoma City, OK, Daismin Kent of Amarillo, TX, Kaylie Kent of Amarillo, TX, Ulyssa Kent of Amarillo, TX, Myah Kent of Amarillo, TX, Raiden Burnett of Amarillo, TX, and Colton Holcomb of Arkansas; great-great-grandchildren, Lettie and Aizen Ruiz of Oklahoma City, OK.
Preceded in death by parents, Walter Poole and Ethel Adelle Poole; brother, Perry Poole; husband, John “JB” Burnett; and son, Leslie “Manard” Gregory.
