Pauline “Polly” (Carter) Skidmore, 90, of Panhandle, TX passed away on September 1, 2021.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Panhandle Cemetery, in Panhandle, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Panhandle, 208 Main.

Polly was born in Laketon, TX on August 21, 1931, to Charles and Minnie Qualls Carter.

Polly married Fred Skidmore in Pampa, TX on March 16, 1957.

Polly worked for Garretson Retirement Home for over 20 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Her greatest joy in life was her love for the Lord which never wavered and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred; brothers, Arthur, Otto, and Laniel; her twin brother, Paul; and sister, Fannie.

She is survived by her children, Mickey Skidmore and wife Donna, of Panhandle, TX, and Sherry Mitchell, of Panhandle, TX; grandson, Tyler Mitchell; step-granddaughter, Dayna Wells; great-grandchildren, Alex, of Stinnett, TX, and Brynn Lee of Amarillo, TX; and step-great-grandchildren, Tobey, Oliver, Annabelle, and Allysa.

Viewing will be from noon – 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers at Panhandle, 208 Main.

  1. Loved Pauline and Fred. Lots of great memories, especially from younger times. They were “you can count on ‘em” kinda people, at the church or anywhere they were needed. I heard her service honored her. I hated we had to miss it.

  2. We all know god has gained a true angle, we love you great aunt Polly and I personally will never forget you! Even though today I just learned your full name. You will always be aunt Polly to me! Fly with the eagles.
