Richard Adams, 93, of Amarillo, TX died on July 28, 2021.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2021, at First Baptist Church Amarillo with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. A private burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Richard was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 13, 1927, to Carl and Irene Adams. He graduated with his associate’s degree in business and worked as a landman for petroleum and natural gas exploration. Richard was a member at First Baptist Church, where he married his wife, Millie on November 15, 2006.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Millie, of the home; sons, Cass Adams and wife Ann of Houston, TX, and Scott Adams and wife Linda of Key West, Florida; sister, Sharon Harris and husband Mike of Houston, Texas; and several stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

  1. Uncle Richard will be greatly missed. He was a kind soul and much loved. I always enjoyed spending time with family at his homes through the years…He always had the coolest homes. 🙂 Even though his sister and family ended up moving to Houston years later, I was always glad I was able to convince Uncle Richard not to move to Houston when I was a kid so that we could spend more time with him.

    What a wonderful life, Uncle Richard, but I know you’re getting to celebrate reunions in Heaven with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Gerald, Aunt Jean, and other family members! Your nieces and nephew will keep an eye on your sister and Cass & Scott. We love you!
