Virginia Marquez, 84, was born on April 7, 1937, in Trementina, New Mexico to Luis Valverde and Marina Madrid.  Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the love of her life, Eddie Marquez on January 14, 2022.

Virginia loved her family and was a homemaker who loved crafting, sewing, and gardening.  She is survived by her two children Andrea Morton and husband Jerry of Dumas, Texas and Keith Marquez of Tucumcari; grandchildren, Jason Morton and wife Geneva of Amarillo, Denise Pizana and husband Adrian of Amarillo, Erika Vechicco and husband Mickey of Dumas, Noah Marquez of Tucumcari and eight great-grandchildren.

Virginia is also survived by her sisters, Cecelia Haun, Margaret (Margie) Parra, Rosa Lee Bruhn, Pearl Parra, all of Tucumcari; her brothers, Teodoro (Sonny) Valverde of Albuquerque and Victor Valverde of Socorro.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Marquez; parents, Luis and Marina Valverde; and brother, Louie Valverde.

Virginia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Viewing will be from 2:00 P.M. (MST) to 5:00 P.M. (MST) on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Dunn Funeral Home located at 115 S. 3rd St. in Tucumcari.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (MST) on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Tucumcari.  Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
