On Sunday, December 6, 2020, Alfredo Baldivia, loving husband, father, and grandpa passed away at the age of 60.

Alfredo was born on December 3, 1960, in Lorenzo, TX to Ambrosio and Dolores Baldivia. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in September 1979 and was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal in January 1985. He started as a student worker for Tech Support at Amarillo College in 1997 making his way up to the Supervisor of Tech Support before leaving in 2015. He continued his career for the Amarillo Independent School District.

On December 14, 1984, he married Shiela Gaye Shannon. They raised two daughters, Nikki, and Bailee, and one son, Jesse. He was a grandpa to two girls, Jazzlynn and Audrey, and one boy, Sa’Darion. He was a father-in-law to one girl, Daniva. He had a passion to help kids and was a coach for sports since 1995, helping coach his kids and grandkids. He loved the game of baseball and played in softball leagues for over 20 years. His two other favorite hobbies were riding his motorcycle and taking long trips in his jeep. He inspired and touched so many people from his family to the teachers and staff who he was able to get to meet. He loved his wife and family, always putting them first. He had four characteristics he will always be remembered for. His long hair, his pearly white teeth, his Pepsi, and his sneezes.

Alfredo was preceded in death by his father, Ambrosio, his mother, Dolores, and his two sisters, Erlinda and Elida. He is survived by his wife Shiela, three children, Nikki, Bailee, Jesse, and wife Daniva, his brother, Henry and wife Teresa, his sister, Erlinda and husband Belin, his grandchildren, Jazzlynn, Sa’Darion, Audrey, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers funeral home at 1 o’clock p.m. Flowers can be sent to Boxwell Brothers at 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX, 79109.

  1. You were so much like a brother we grew up together I will always treasure the moments we had, out working in those cotton fields. Kept praying for rain so we could go home lol. I will miss you.
    For your family my deepest sympathy. I couldn’t be there. Always know I’m here if you need anything. Praying for you.

  3. I enjoyed getting to know Fred when he worked at AC. He was always kind and so knowledgeable. I can’t remember a time when he did not have a smile when he greeted me. He will be missed. God bless his family and give you peace.

  4. Prayers for your family and loved ones. I had the pleasure of seeking Fred’s help many times at Emerson Elementary. He was a good man.

  5. Fred, you will be missed by so many people. It’s a comfort to know that you and Shiela have so many friends and family to help her through this tragic time. Like any good Marine you fought as long and hard as you could. You’ve gone now to prepare a place for her. RIP.

  7. It pains me to have heard the sad news of Fred. Fred was an amazing man but most of all a great friend. Through all the times we hung out together with the rest of the guys which he called us (The BMF’S). A name Fred made up.. Fred always had a smile and cracking jokes. Everybody wanted to be around Fred. Fred took pride being a Marine. Fred will truly be missed. RIP, God Bless and condolences to the Family. 🙏

  9. So, so very sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. He always had a smile on his face, and was a joy to deal with at Amarillo College. He will be missed terribly. Praying for all his loved ones
