Delores graduated high school from Kress, TX in 1954. Friends made during these years were life-long friends. During their retirement years, the class of 1954 planned many trips together.

Delores and Billy Pierson married in February 1955 and had 4 children together. They farmed outside of Petersburg and attended church in Plainview. After Bill’s death in 1968, Delores learned to be a single mom and moved to Plainview.

After living in Plainview for four years, Delores became reacquainted with an old high school friend, QD Bevill. They were married in April 1972 and moved to Gruver, TX, where all but one of their combined 7 children graduated from Gruver High School. During those years, Delores cultivated several of her interests – painting, entertaining and reading. She was part owner in a craft shop, worked in the Gruver Library and worked in the office at First Baptist Church.

Delores & QD lived in Gruver until 1987, when they entered Southwestern Baptist Seminary and started a new life in ministry. They had ministry positions in McLean, TX and Plainview, TX. Delores worked in the library at Wayland Baptist University until retirement in 2006. After QD passed away in 2013, Delores moved to Amarillo, where she enjoyed many new friends for 6 years.

  4. Pat, Jerry and families,
So sorry for your loss. Delores was such a beautiful lady, inside and out. I remember the years she lived next to my Mom, the most, because I got to see her more often. We all know she is walking streets of gold but that doesn’t make us still mourn the loss of such a sweet soul

  5. Aunt Delores was lovely, and the epitome of a true lady. She made a point of reaching out to me, when I was a child. I lived inside the books I read and inside my head, much of the time. It must have been easy to overlook me, because I didn’t try to attract much attention. Aunt Delores saw that, and drew me out from my imagination into the real world. I’ll always be grateful to her both for her attention and for her gracious example.
I’ll always remember her sweetness and smile.

  6. Enjoy your Heavenly Rest you Good and Faithful Servant.

You are a blessing to my family, by providing our son with the perfect Wife Cynthia. You will be missed by many!!!

    You With love,
    Dan and DiAnne
