Eric Allen Denton, 55, of Amarillo, TX died Monday, February 21, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 5, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Arrangements by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Eric was born January 4, 1967, in Canyon, TX and raised in Amarillo where he attended Palo Duro High School.

Eric was an accomplished musician, playing cello and trombone.  An especially gifted guitar player, he won a contest to be the 5th member of Tesla.  He was a past member of Tungngruve, Sticks & Stones, and Drastic Meazures.  Eric was a motorcycle enthusiast.

Survivors include his former wife, Missy Denton, of Amarillo, TX; cousins, Shane Coleman, of Amarillo, TX and Toby Coleman, of Oklahoma City; and many, many more.

  1. You were an inspiration and a role model. I looked up to you and still do because you were such a kind spirit. I love you cousin and you’re memory will be cherished. Rest peacefully.

  2. It was a blast knowing Eric and growing up with him and Shane. Playing around in Randy’s music store was one of my weekly stops. Talking about band stuff. You will be missed my friend by all that knew you. Rest easy until we meet again brother. And Rock heavens doors off.

  4. Eric had the heart of Jimi Hendrix.I enjoyed his friendship and his music. We partied together in the late 80’s And had some great times and laughter. You are truly missed my friend. The band in heaven just got some more magic 🙏

I will see you again someday. But until then…I’m sure you’ll entertain the angels. This world will be a bit less beautiful without you here. My heart aches but my soul knows you are whole.
