Javonta Rashawn Pierson, 22, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

Services will be at noon on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Hillside Christian Church on North Grand St.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Javonta was born in Amarillo, Texas on December 22, 1998, to Lamont Pierson and Devin Derrick.

Growing up Javonta was always an entertainer and remained that as an adult.   He rapped, danced, sang, and joked to put a smile on the face of others.  He was in church at a young age and knew the Lord 100%.  He was truly the definition of love and laughter.

Javonta attended Palo Duro High School where he graduated in 2017.  He loved playing basketball, football, and running track.  He also completed the police academy for his dreams was to one day become a police officer or to join the army.

Javonta grew into a very respectful man by the age 22.  He worked for Tyson Foods for 3 years.  He loved and cherished having a good time with friends and family, especially, whenever food was involved.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa’s, Charles Derrick and Charles McCullough.

He is survived by his mother, Devin Derrick; father, Lamont Pierson and wife Brandi Pierson; sisters, Danishia Price, twin sister, Javonna Pierson, Tree’Sen Pierson, Tree’Asia Pierson, Mo’Nasia Pierson, and Aija Pierson; brothers, Nathan Stotts, Markell Pierson, Travie Pierson, and Laquan Pierson.  He is also survived by grandmother’s, Dorothy Derrick and Sarah McCullough; niece, Quiriah Price (Boo Boo) and Khari; nephews, Kyan and Treyden; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends that he loved deeply.
