Marion Eugene (Rusty) Tucker III of Amarillo, TX passed away into the hands of the Lord on Monday, January 17, 2022.

A private memorial service to celebrate Marion’s life will be held for family and close friends at 2:00 P.M.  Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Boxwell Brother’s Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX.  The service will also be live streamed.  Arrangements made by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors with Chaplain, Davlyn Duesterhaus, officiating.

Rusty was born on October 6, 1950, to Marion Eugene II and Janice Tucker in Coraopolis, PA.  He was an only child but was raised with an abundance of cousins and family where there was no shortage of love.  Rusty was a stellar three sport athlete in high school.  He had opportunities to play all three sports at collegiate and semi-professional levels.  Rusty made his way to Canyon, TX to play college football at West Texas State University and made his home in Amarillo, TX.   He had 3 children with former spouse and lifelong friend, Nina Tucker.  Family and sports were the center of his world and the pride of his heart.  He coached many of his daughters’ and son’s athletic teams and rarely missed a sporting event that his kids participated in.  He loved watching his children and grandchildren excel in sporting events, in the classroom, and in life.

Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Eugene II and Janice Tucker.

He is survived by his children, Shannon Pestel and her husband Aaron of McKinney, TX, Kisha Mize of Plano, TX, Marion Eugene Tucker IV and his wife Desiree of Menifee, CA, and 6 grandchildren Shelby, Luke, Mackenzie, Marion Eugene V (Troy), Logan, and Audrey.  Rusty had several out of state extended family members and close long-term friends who stood in the gap and supported him physically, emotionally, and spiritually during some of his sickest days.  Immediate family will be forever grateful for their acts of love.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”  Revelation 21:4
