Rayma Lee “Brownie” Kendrick, 84, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 26th, 2022, at Coulter Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 4:00 P.M., in Booker Cemetery, in Booker, TX.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Brownie was born September 28, 1937, in Booker, TX to Harry and Floy Mountcastle.  After receiving her cosmetology license, she began a career as a beautician and owned her own business.

Brownie married Frank Duff on May 21, 1957.  He preceded her in death in 1978.  She married Ernest Allen Kendrick on March 17, 1979.  He preceded her in death in 2017.

Brownie was very talented and loved painting and doing ceramics, but her true passion was sewing, quilting and of course visiting with friends and family.

She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Greg Duff, of Amarillo, TX, and Kelly Duff and wife Cyndi, of Goldendale, WA; stepdaughter, Vicki Conger, of Brighton, CO; two stepsons, Warren Kendrick and wife Diane, of Bullard, TX, and David Kendrick and wife Crystal, of Lewisville, TX; a brother, Smokey Mountcastle and wife Nancy, of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren, Shaun, Christopher, Kayla, and Megan Duff; eight step-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; nieces, Jan Kile and husband Mark, of Amarillo, TX, and Kathy Gilbert, of Dallas, TX; and nephews, Kyle Mountcastle, and Kevin Mountcastle, both of Dallas, TX.

  1. What an inspiration Brownie was to me in my quilting adventures. Blessings to her family. She was a loving and talented individual and will be missed by many.

  2. I will always cherish memories of how kind Aunt Brownie was to my grandmother Duff and mother (Roberta Duff-Sanger) even after my Uncle Frankie passed away. I was thankful that she took the time to always keep in touch with me with family updates.. Her cards, notes and phone calls will be missed.

  3. Brownie was such a sweet, friendly, and funny person. She was always so welcoming. She was loved by many and will be missed. My prayers and condolences are with the family.

  6. So Sorry for your loss! Brownie was a very sweet person. She was a member of Widowed Persons Services., she joined January 9, 2018 We talked on the phone several times. she had a quilt meeting on Tuesdays and was so tired when she got home she would skip our meeting most of the time. She loved Quilting. Brownie will be missed! You all are in my thoughts and Prayers!!!

  8. Brownie was one of the sweetest ladies my family and me ever knew. She was a true sweetheart and was always so precious and kind. I count it a true privilege to have known her here on this earth and will rejoice one day when I join her in Heaven. My prayers for each of you during this time of tremendous loss.

  9. Brownie was such a gracious person. I was truly grateful to have met her through her step-son Warren Kendrick and wife Freddie Diane. Their lovely daughter Christal Kendrick Hoffman loved her visits with Brownie and always had such good stories about her quilts. God bless your family.

  12. Brownie was the first person I met when we moved to Perryton. We became good friends and had some great times together over the years. Had many talks since moving to Amarillo. She was one of the sweetest people I ever met. I loved her and will miss her. Prayers for the family. My heart goes out to you Kelly, Greg, Smokey and Nancy and all the rest of the Family. She was a very special lady.

    To Greg, Kelley ,Cindy and family. Smokey, Nancy she was so happy to have you in Amarillo. We shared such a close friendship and so many sweet memories!! We would talk on the phone for an hour at a time just laughing and talking about the past. Sure will miss her and our phone calls. Thank God she is healed now and walking on the streets of Gold!!
