Steven Matthew Briones, 35, of Amarillo, TX passed away in Denver, CO on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

 
Memorial services will be at 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
 
Steven was born on November 18, 1986, in Amarillo, Texas to Rachael and Esteban Briones. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 2004 and received his associate’s degree from Culinary School in 2008. He had been a chef at Voghera Ristorante in Denver, Colorado.
 
During his younger years, Steven was enthusiastic about skateboarding and hanging out at the skatepark. He loved to play the guitar. Steven was a gifted artist and caregiver taking care of his parents. He was very loyal to his family.
 
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Anita London; and four uncles, Richard, Raymond, Russell, and Mike.
 
He is survived by his son, Joel McPherson of Amarillo; two sisters, Dione Briones of Amarillo and Diane Hopson of Denver, Colorado; two brothers, Tony Briones and Michael Saiz of Amarillo; his aunt, Jennifer Soto of Tucson, Arizona; five nieces; two nephews; and many other family members.

  1. Steven you were a very awesome person. You were very sweet and kind to me when I needed a friend. Wish we could have longer time to hang out. You are going to be missed. Tell my son I said hi.

  2. He is definitely going to be missed, he was way too young to leave us but he’s not struggling anymore. He is at peace for eternity not only with God but with Steve and Rachael too.
    Rest In Peace Stevie, I love you and hope to see you again soon.
