Travis Shane Knox, 59, of Claude, Tx passed away on June 26, 2021.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX.

Shane was born on September 30, 1961, in Groom, Tx to Travis and Nell Knox. He was a loving son, husband, father, and brother. He loved to pull pranks and joke with his family. His love for Lineman Brotherhood was second only to his family.

Shane graduated from Claude High School in 1980 and attended Clarendon College for one year. He served in the US Army/US Army Reserve from 1982 to 1988. During this time, he completed his studies to become a Journeyman Lineman.

Shane began his career with SPS ServiceCo in 1983 and stayed with them for 10 years. In August of 1993 he went to work for BWTX Pantex Plant as a Journeyman Lineman/Substation Electrician until the time of his death. During these years he earned many awards and certificates – always wanting to better his trade.

Shane is preceded in death by his wife Misti Knox; his mother and father, Travis and Nell Knox; his brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Brenda Knox; and his sister-in-law Kathy.

Survivors include his daughter, Jewelee Knox, of the home; son, Jason Birtciel and wife Leeah; brothers; Ted Knox (Cindy), Tom Knox, Tim Knox (Leslie); 19 nieces and nephews, 30 great nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great nieces and nephews. His mother and father-in-law, Ron and Marty Bohanan; brother-in-law, Sonny Bohanan; and numerous friends

  6. I was so sorry to hear about Shane passing. Condolences to his children and family. Shane was my cousin. His dad Travis and my dad were brothers. We just missed seeing Shane when we were recently in Wayside.
