  2. We just learned today that Wes had passed away. We went to college together and my wife, Carol Ayers Crain, started her teaching at Amarillo High School, with Wes. He was highly intelligent and I know he is missed.

Prayers and thoughts for friends and family.

  3. I just saw this about Wes’ passing. He was an amazing leader and mentor for me in my career. I was privileged to work with him for so many years in different positions in AISD. I am grateful for what Wes taught me and send my deepest condolences.

  4. I have continued to check to see if Wes passed, knowing his health was so compromised. I am so sorry, Aunt Rosie. If you ever want to visit a beautiful area and a family who cares, we would love to have you. Our friends Hal & Sylvia also send their sympathy. I did not know Wes but … as he made you happy… I mourn his loss. It is a comfort to know he is not in that frail, sick body any longer. May you find much peace and comfort in the support from Lauren and Charlie and the grands and Wes’s family too. Hugs and love… Susyl

  5. That is not the first time I’ve heard that. Thank you for remembering him. He was so proud of the staff there!

  6. Mr. Schultz was assistant principal at Crockett Jr. High in the mid-70s when I was a student there. Once I got to know him, I realized what a truly dedicated educator he was. I know he had great success at Carver and then at Palo Duro. He was a good man who influenced countless students with his care and compassion. And if I remember correctly, he was a heck of a dog breeder!

    Rest in Peace Wes!

  7. Thank you John—you two were trailblazers!
Thanks for remembering him and how he empowered others! It was an exciting time for him.

  8. Prayers to Wes’ family. He was an amazing man and leader. He believed in me as a leader of digital learning for AISD and gave me the start I needed nearly 30 years ago.

May God bless him and his family with peace.
