In Proverbs, it says, “Those who are gracious to the poor lend to the Lord, and the Lord will fully repay them.” Garth Merrick loved giving and helping those in need. He had a passion for growing the kingdom of God and put everything he had into that.

Garth Pierce Merrick, 75, went to be with Jesus on March 1st, 2022.

A service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 4, 2022, at Trinity Fellowship Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

He was born August 30, 1946, in Nashville Tennessee to Lee and Lucille Merrick.

Garth graduated from Greeley Central High School class of 64’. Following graduation, he attended Colorado State University and then on to serve in the National Guard.

Garth married his amazing wife Susie Merrick of Fort Collins, Colorado on June 9th, 1977. The two of them met while Susie was performing with her band at a local supper club in Fort Collins, Colorado. This coming June they would have celebrated their 45th year of marriage. Garth was a creative person through and through. He started Hereford Bi-Products in 1968 and grew it into a worldwide brand of dog food. He used the success of the company to embark on his true passion, helping others. Garth had a heart for giving like no one else. He loved helping others and donated to ministries and organizations all over the country any chance he got. He was a faithful board member at Marriage Today Ministries, Church Loans International, and an elder at Trinity Fellowship Church. He was a lover of all kinds of animals going as far as owning everything from antelope to wallabies. He loved the city of Hereford, Texas, and loved investing in the community.
