Alejandro Morales (Alex or Cha Che), 70, of Amarillo, TX passed on January 1, 2022.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Amarillo, TX, 1631 South Roberts 79102

Alex was born on August 8, 1951, in Memphis, Texas to Alex and Juanita Morales. He was married to Jeanie Hernandez on March 31, 1979, and the couple was married 42 years raising three children.

Alex was raised in Amarillo with seven siblings where he graduated from Caprock High School.  He attended West Texas University before enlisting into the United States Marine Corps where he achieved the rank of staff sergeant in less than three years.

Alex was a man of faith and strong character.  He always put others before himself and always remembered the type of treats each person enjoyed so he could share some with them the next time they met with his signature 50-cent piece.

Alex was a very proud father who enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and treating countless people to lunch and dinner.  He will be remembered as a thoughtful fun-loving person who could be counted on and was always ready to treat.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Juanita Morales; his brothers, Rey Morales Sr. and Gilbert Morales; and his sister, Lupe Frausto.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Morales; daughters, Rachael Morales and wife Cassandra Morales, and Sophia Paredes and husband Tony Paredes; son, Jerry Morales, and wife Branda Morales; grandchildren, Grace, Berklee, Isaiah, Brooke, Kiara, and Easton; siblings, Carolina Inguanzo, Johnny Morales, Linda Eisen, Rosie Wright, and Rita Morales; and many nieces and nephews.

  1. Jeanie, I’m so sorry that I’m just hearing of Alex’s passing and I’m sending my heartfelt condolences to you and the kids. I’ve always admired yours and Alex’s marriage. The way you spoke of him you could just tell what a wonderful husband and father he was. May God carry you all through this difficult time.

  2. Uncle Cha-Che may you Rest In Peace. We enjoyed the wine that you would give us when we were in Texas. Your luscious Teresa and Virginia from California really enjoyed it and will always remember that moment. Your nieces and nephew Martha, Celena, and Fernando will keep the wonderful memories of our summer together.

  6. Death may have taken my brother-in-law , but in my memories, he lives on. Within our hearts and minds, he will always be with us. I have such fond memories of our mini trips together. He never met stranger he didn’t like. Alex or Cha Che you will be missed so much. Corrine
