Alex Rushing, age 22, left us long before we were ready. He went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2021. He was born on July 30, 1998, and he came into this world fast and furious. Nothing was fast enough for him including his tricycle. He loved football, BMX bike racing, dirt bikes, and anything that went fast. He was called a hard-working sweet man.

He was loved by so many, and his friends all thought of him as a brother. We will carry him in our hearts forever. Alex was the one we each called on when we needed help. He had so many talents and could fix anything.

He is survived by his mother, Pam Rushing and fiancé David Oberbrockling; his father, Patrick Rushing; his partner-in-crime sister, Miranda Attanasio; brother-in-law, Jared Attanasio; niece, Olivia; nephew, Liam; grandmother, Irene Rushing; his loving aunts and uncles, Kathy Bagwell and Mike Burnett, Debbie and John Grigsby, Dennis and Patty Rushing, Roye and Jana Rushing; cousins, Kira and Bret Adudell, Tina and John Fortner, Lisa Burgan, John Burgan, Zach and Cybil Grigsby, Amber and Keith Ivy, Lindsey, Morgan, Becca, and Tommy Rushing, Gracie and Bella Fortner, December and Drake Luttrell, Hudson Jones, Griffin Peach, Zoe and Collin Grigsby, Addison, Avery, and Kelan Ivy; his closest cousin, John-Marq Fortner; his dearest friends, Brayden Southerland and his grandpa Charles Inman, Stanton Taylor, Jake Birkes, Juan Vasquez, Garrett Brown, Hunter Bell, Brody Keplinger, Kourtlan Slaton, Kennison Slaton, and Kaden Shannon; and his loyal dog, Chloe.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Maxine Collins, and Carlton Rushing; and his cousin, Dillon Luttrell.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 21, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Jim Smith officiating.
