Brian Scott Kloos, 60, of Mustang, OK, passed peacefully, surrounded by his wife and children on January 10, 2022.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 21, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Murray Gossett officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Brian was born to Raymond and Agnes Kloos on February 12, 1961, in Melrose, Minnesota. Brian moved to Amarillo, TX when he was five years old. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1979 and attended Texas Tech University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning his bachelor’s in pharmacy degree in December of 1985.
Brian married Shari (Williams) Kloos in August of 1985. The couple were blessed with three children, Erin, Logan, and Casen. Brian’s children were the highlight of his life. He played endless games with them, often making up games that became a staple in the Kloos family home. Together, Brian and Shari instilled respect, work ethic, love, and the desire to laugh in their children. Brian often read the Book of Virtues to his kids when they needed it.
Brian was funny by accident and on purpose. He had an intelligent, quick wit and the most amazing eyebrow game. He was an immediate ray of light who could sincerely connect with anyone. Brian loved to host parties, big or small, from bible studies weekly in his home to hosting neighborhood parties just because. He loved to serve “meats and cheeses” and a heavy drink. It’s been said he, “poured heavy but kept it light.” Brian’s interests were sports, music, bowling, bird, and butterfly watching, and whatever hobbies his family was interested in. He could be found playing tennis with Erin, golf with Logan, basketball or catch with Casen, and gardening or helping rehab wildlife with Shari. Brian and Erin were continually having a world championship challenge in backgammon, while Casen, Logan, and Brian could be heard discussing music. Brian loved his “Tech Gang” and had been attending football games with this group of men for 35 years.
Brian worked for Cardinal Health as a nuclear pharmacist, which brought his family from Lubbock to Amarillo, TX in 1997. He loved his pharmacy career. Brian never wanted to be too far away from filling prescriptions for customers. Most notably, he enjoyed working for Medi-Park Pharmacy, Catching’s Prescriptions, and King’s Compounding Pharmacy.
In October of 2020, Brian joined Shari in her lifelong dream to move back to Oklahoma. It wasn’t his lifelong dream to become an Okie, but he wanted to be near their children and grandchildren. Until his last day in Mustang, he believed moving was “still worth it.” Brian spent endless time with his grandchildren on the back patio building ramps, pushing cars, playing bocce ball, and dancing.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Kloos; his father-in-law, Richard Williams; and his niece, Alyssa Kloos.
Brian is survived by his mother, Agnes Kloos of Amarillo, his wife, Shari, of Mustang, OK; daughter Erin Teddy and husband Jerry of Mustang, OK; daughter Logan McKenzie and husband Ben of Oklahoma City; son Casen Kloos of Stillwater, OK; sister Lynn Cain and husband Marvin of Amarillo; brother Glenn Kloos and wife Susan of Boerne, TX; sister Laurie Nahrgang and husband Johnny of Amarillo; and grandchildren Harper Teddy and Cooper McKenzie.
