Donna Sue Willson, 67, of Amarillo, TX went to her heavenly home on February 12, 2021.

Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Friday, February 19, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. A private burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Donna was born in Coffeyville, KS on October 29, 1953, to Mary Lou and William Alvin Miller. The Miller family moved from Kansas to Amarillo, TX in January 1956. Donna graduated from Caprock High School in 1973.

Donna and William Lee Willson were married on April 5, 1974, in Amarillo, TX. She operated a home daycare for decades, loved caring for children, and was affectionately called “Nanny” by both daycare children and her grandchildren. She also worked for Goodcare Health Services providing home care for the elderly. Donna attended Harvest Time Pentecostal Church of God and will be missed by her church family. She also enjoyed competitively playing games with family and friends and always wanted to play “Donna wins”.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents Mary Lou and William Alvin Miller, and brother William Patrick Miller.

Survivors include her husband William Willson, son Wesley Willson and wife Kathy of Amarillo, daughter April Love and husband Joel of Bushland, and three grandchildren Colton Boyett, Kyle Love, and Brianna Willson. Donna’s surviving siblings include Robert Miller and wife Martha of Amarillo, Brenda Miller and Rodney Wynn of Amarillo, Brian Miller and wife Terri of Amarillo, Debbie Ballengee, and husband Jim of Grapevine, Scott Miller and wife Lisa of Austin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care and compassion of Amarillo Center for Skilled Care and BSA Hospice.

  1. I still thing about her after even through it has been over 2 years. She was a very dear friend and like family. Miss seeing her, but one day very soon we are going to see the king. I know she will be there with a host of other dear friends and family that are gone.

  2. My condolences to the family. Donna was my neighbor for many years and I always enjoyed our conversations. She was a very good lady who’s priorities were her children and husband. My she Rest In Peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼
