Kevin Charles Smith, 61, aka Butch and Beef Butch, was born December 29, 1960, in Eunice, NM, to Billy Charles Smith and Sandra Jean Boyd.
He died on February 4, 2022, in Amarillo, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Butch grew up on the north side of Amarillo attending Mesa Verde Elementary, Travis Junior High, and graduating from Palo Duro High School in 1979.
Butch was a truck driver by trade working for J Lee Milligan for many years. He was a very private, easy-going man with a big heart. He was a very dedicated worker and a loyal son, brother, and friend.
He spent his happiest days in Hollis, OK staying with his grandparents JT and Glen Boyd. “Beef”, as he was known to his friends, also spent many great times at Thompson Park with his longtime park friends.
Butch was preceded in death by his mother Sandra Simmons, his father Bill Smith, as well as his grandparents JT and Glen Boyd.
He is survived by his sister Debra Pate and her husband Virgil. Brother Cody Simmons and wife Brenda. Niece Kara Kennedy and husband Chad. Two nephews, Trent Walker and Aydin Simmons, and one great-niece Pate Kennedy. All being from Amarillo.
