Monnie was born in Borger, TX on May 30, 1934, to Fred and Evalena Maple. She married the father of her two sons, Bill Murry, in 1954. She later married Don Dillard in 1990.

Monnie loved the Lord, reading her Bible and devotionals daily. Her next greatest love was for her family. Nothing delighted her more than receiving pictures of her family.

She loved being outdoors and going to the mountains, where several family reunions were held. She also enjoyed playing games with family and her friends from the Senior Living community, where she resided for the past 3 years. Although Monnie was small in stature, she was feisty and loved to laugh and have a good time!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Dillard; her parents, Fred and Evalena Maple; her brother and sister-in-law, Waudell  and Thomasene Maple; and her sister, Myrna Mercer.

She is survived by her two sons and their wives – Marty and Cynthia Murry of Amarillo and Andy and Rhonda Murry of Weatherford, TX.  Others left to cherish her memory are her four grandsons and their wives- Brandon and Amber Murry of Aledo, TX; Brian and Andrea Murry of Lubbock; Michael and Heather Murry of Lubbock; and Blake and Morgan Murry of Tulsa, OK. Also surviving are her eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made in honor of Monnie Dillard to Arden Road Baptist Church, 6701 Arden Road, Amarillo, TX 79109.
