Patricia Jo Baker, 73, of Amarillo, TX passed away on September 21, 2021.

She was born on June 24, 1948, in Abilene, TX to Homer and Dorothy Hill. The family relocated to Amarillo shortly after where she remained for the majority of her life. She married the love of her life, Tim Baker, in 1966 and together they raised a family and enjoyed 42 wonderful years until his passing in 2008. Tricia was a tremendously loving and caring daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by many.

She had a number of great golfing and tennis friends, and some of her favorite times were spent hanging out with them on her back porch at Tascosa CC where she lived for over 30 years. She found no greater joy, however, than spending time with her family. She was a fierce supporter of her family and could find a way to encourage and help them through any challenge or hardship. Tricia loved to have a good time with her family, and many of their best memories are centered around annual summer vacations with the entire clan. They will all fondly remember this year’s trip when over 20 of them traveled to Florida in August.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her son, Brent Baker and wife Andrea of Fayetteville AR; daughter, Breena Roberts and husband Jayson of Amarillo, TX; brother, Allen Hill and wife Mary of Austin, TX; brother, Byron Hill and wife Cyndi of Amarillo, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Her favorite job though was that of an extra special “Mimi” to 7 grandkids, Alexis and husband David, Mackenzie, Jake and wife Kendra, Evan, Julian, Caitlyn, and Wyatt; and 4 great-grandkids, Bennett, Bryce, Nash, and Waylen.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 24th, 2021, at 2:00 P.M., at Hillside Christian Church, 6100 S Soncy Rd. in Amarillo.

  7. Mimi was the best. She had a heart of gold and treated my son, her grandson’s friend, just like one of her own grandkids. She was quick to smile and had an ornery streak that I loved. She loved her family so big and so unconditional, that it was almost tangible. She was a light in this world that will be missed tremendously.

  8. I’m so heart broken for you all! I’m heart broken for my own selfish reasons too. She was one of a kind with a smile and laugh that warmed the soul. She was funny, witty, classy and could handle our crudeness…
She also loved my Alyx like her own grandkid and I will forever be grateful for that. “MiMi” is what I will forever call her because for me she was the icon of Mimi’s. I’m going to miss you sweet lady. Thank you for loving me.
Hugs and prayers to you all.

  10. I am incredibly saddened by the passing of my friend Tricia. I first remember meeting her and daughter, Breena, walking through a house my husband, Jerry, and I were building just down the street from the Bakers. They thought I was Jerry’s daughter instead of his wife and I thought they were both beautiful. Little did I know that over the next decade I would discover just how beautiful they were indeed — inside and out. Some of my best memories of TCC begin with, “Remember that night on Tricia and Tim’s porch?”

Baker clan — know that the Neals (Ellen, Kent, and Natalie) are crying with you tonight and yet we fully expect that somewhere in the great beyond three names are being called onto the first tee box “Teeing off on number one, we have Mrs Baker, Mr. Baker, and Chief Neal!” ❤️❤️❤️ You are loved.

  11. I an so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing your mother is so hard. May God bless you and keep His arms around you
