  6. She was such a sweet sweet lady! And she welcomed me to nelson knowing that I was unsure of things, but quickly reminded me that I would fit in, with much encouragement she had put my mind at ease!! She will be greatly missed!! May God comfort Rosa and family right now!!

  7. Patsey, she was my “manita” buddy from when I worked at Head Start. You always had that big trademark smile on your face. You were always cheering me on to finish my degree and do more to help kids and families. She was by no means perfect, but she didn’t have to express her faith in words to me or anyone else because it was obvious that she was sustained by Christ and her actions showed it. James 2:18 says “show me your faith and I’ll show you my faith by my works.” That smile and patient demeanor with kids and staff alike when the sky was falling and kids were going crazy were the type of works he spoke of.
Enjoy our wonderful Savior, my friend, and to her family, take comfort in the fact that your mama’s smile just got a whole lot bigger and brighter in the presence of her God. You will miss her very much now, but if you follow her lead and place your faith and salvation in Christ Jesus, you will join her someday and truly understand where that smile came from. May the Holy Spirit pour out comfort upon your whole family.

  10. Patsey was my assistant in the Head Start Program when I worked in Amarillo ISD at Robert E. Lee Elementary (1993-1994). She quickly became my friend. I have never had so much fun with a colleague or laughed so hard! She was such a great support to me when my husband and I separated that December. She was my rock. I became closer to Jesus because of Patsey and her great faith. She loved her job and she loved every child who was blessed enough to be touched by her life. Patsey will be greatly missed in this life. But one thing is for sure! We will see her in Heaven! And I know that she is overjoyed to be reunited with those who are in Heaven who went home before her. I know that we will give each other a big hug and that we will laugh for eternity. I love you Patsey. I’ll see you soon!
