Ryan Wayne Barnard of Amarillo, TX., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2021, in his home.

Services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount.

Ryan was born on April 28, 1975, in Amarillo, TX.

He was a 1993 graduate of Tascosa High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M, his Doctorate in Pharmacy from Texas Tech, and an MBA from Oklahoma University.

Ryan married Michelle Boyett in 1999 and they had three amazing children, Chloe, Ethan, and Nate.

Ryan started his career at Sherman Memorial Hospital as the Director of Pharmacy. He was then recruited to become the Director of Pharmacy at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma, later becoming the Chief Operating Officer.  He returned to Amarillo in 2012 and soon become the Chief Executive Officer at Swisher Memorial Hospital. Ryan was a true businessman and entrepreneur.  His most recent business venture was the creation of Bomb City Vodka.

Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Gary Barnard.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle, daughter, Chloe, and sons, Ethan, and Nate.  He is also survived by his mother, Cindy Barnard; his brother Greg and wife Sarah; nephews, Simon and Graham of Morro Bay, CA.; and a brother Tanner, also of Morro Bay, CA.

    I was so sorry to hear of Ryan’s passing. There are so many fond memories of our kids all running around together in the Wolflin neighborhood, and the many scouting events. Sending our love and prayers for you, Greg, Tanner and family

  6. You will be greatly missed. I appreciate everything you thought me in the time you where at Mercy Pharmacy Ardmore. Always remember to give a person their flowers while they are here once they are gone they will never know what they meant to you. RIP Ryan.
