Sammy “Lee” Elliott, 69, of Weatherford, TX, passed away on February 9, 2022.

To celebrate his life, a gathering of family and friends will be at 2:00 on February 22, 2022 at Christ’s Community Fellowship Church in Vega, TX with Pastor Darren Elliott officiating.

Lee was born in Amarillo, TX, on October 2, 1952, to Joann Bryant and Sam Elliott.

Lee was raised his entire life by his mother, Joann and stepdad, Malcolm Bryant.

After graduating from Hartley High School, Lee went to Clarendon Jr. College and then graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor’s of Ag Business in 1973.

While competing in high school rodeo, Lee met Rebecca Lynn Felts. Lee and Becky married July 20, 1974, and made their home in Hartley Tx, where Lee farmed for 25 of those years. He was also involved in other agricultural careers.

Lee loved Becky, his family, fishing (and the stories that went with them), dancing, and watching his grandkids play sports and rodeo. But most of all, Lee loved Jesus.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Elliott and Joann Bryant; two grandsons, Graham Elliott and Slade Elliott.

Lee is survived by his wife, Becky Elliott of Weatherford, Tx; four children, Daryl Elliott and wife Kristal of Weatherford, Tx, Derrick Elliott and wife Sammie of Paradise, Tx, Darren Elliott and wife Lindsay of Vega, Tx, Breeley Chegwidden and husband Ryan of Weatherford, Tx; and his eight grandchildren, Wimberlee, Sam, Parks, Knoxlee, Kingstyn, Oaklee, Landry, Reagan.

Lee also leaves behind a stepdad, Malcolm Bryant of Amarillo, Tx; a sister, RoxAnn Thompson and husband Jay of Dumas, Tx; a brother, Bruce Elliott of Vega, Tx.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ’s Community Fellowship Church’s “Generations Building” @ CCF Church P.O. Box 800 Vega, Tx 79092.

    Lee left such a Legacy with All his Children and his Beautiful Wife Becky. He will truly be missed. And always loved. One of the Best Friends I’ve been honored to know. God Bless You All.
