William Roe Gainer, Jr., 87, of Amarillo, TX passed away on February 27, 2022.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 4, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Bill was born in Slaton, TX on June 16, 1934, to William Roe Gainer, Sr. and Lillian Tabor. He grew up in Lubbock, TX.

Bill had worked for the Amarillo Police Department for 28 years and owned Allied Courier Service.

Bill enjoyed going to the mountains, camping out, and fishing.

Bill married Jodi in Amarillo, TX on May 15, 2005.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Kinder Gainer; and stepson, Terry Watson.

Survivors include his wife, Jodi Gainer, of Amarillo, TX; sons, Mike Lewis and wife Vicki, of Ft. Worth, TX, William R. Gainer III, of Wyley, TX, and Robert Gainer and wife Tina, of Nevada, TX; daughter, Valerie Patrick and husband Jerry, of Newnan, GA; stepson, Troy Mellema and wife Val, of Lake Fork, TX; stepdaughters, Holly Leuchkemer and husband Ian, of Austin, TX, and Robin Regan Prado and husband Toni, of Galesburg, IL; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be available from 8:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
