Billy Glenn Hill, 74, of Amarillo, TX passed away on Sunday, February 6th, 2022.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Becky; his two children, Matt and Karli Jo; and his two grandchildren, Mila and Ethan. He is also survived by his three brothers, Tommy and wife Terry, Ronnie, and Bryan and wife Debbie; and a very large extended family.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Chuck; and sister-in-law, Wanda. 

Bill was born on September 21, 1947, in Memphis, Texas to Homer and Myrtice Hill. 

 

He graduated from Hedley High School and later attended Clarendon Community College, West Texas State University, and Amarillo College.

Bill married Becky Thompson at Hedley United Methodist Church on June 9th, 1979.

Bill worked as a shoeshine boy, a meter reader for the cities of Amarillo and Lubbock, a business owner selling propane and propane accessories, a mechanic, a correctional officer at the Clements and Neal Units, a road worker for Randall County, and an Uber driver.

Bill was gifted with a large and lively family, a wonderful sense of humor, and an inquisitive mind; all of which served him right up to the end. Bill was an avid reader, a good gambler, and a hard-core conservative. He loved to indulge others. He spoiled his family as well as his animals. He was a man of many talents, hobbies, and interests. 

Memorial services will be held at The First Baptist Church in Hedley, Texas on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.

  2. Howard and I are so sorry to hear this sad news. Bill was a really nice guy and we have many fun memories of growing up in Claude and going to school with Bill. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
