Connie Kinsey Powell, 66, of Amarillo, TX entered the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 11, 2021.

 
Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 15, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dean Whaley officiating. Burial will follow the service at 4:00 P.M., Friday, October 15, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
 
Connie was born November 29, 1954, in Amarillo, TX to Marion and Jessie Kinsey. She graduated from Amarillo High School. Connie was a certified dietary manager and worked for Swisher Memorial Hospital in Tulia until her retirement.
 
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughter’s of the Nile. Connie loved to cook, sew, travel, and host family gatherings.
 
Connie was a loving and caring daughter, sister, mother, and Mamo. She gave her all to her family every day. She loved ducks and had tried to keep her “ducklings” in line. Connie had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone who knew her.
 
Survivors include her daughters, Joli Ariola and husband Matt, and Jaclyn Myers and husband Jason, all of Amarillo, TX; a son, Chock Grady, of Colorado Springs, CO; her parents, Marion and Jessie Kinsey, of Amarillo, TX; a sister, Debbie Stern and husband Dean, of Cape Coral, FL; five grandchildren, Alexa Curry, Dylan Ariola, Cade Ariola, Lily Myers, and Quinton Myers; niece, Alicia Moen, of Japan; and one great-grandchild on-the-way, who she was so excited to meet.
 
Memorials can be made to your favorite charity in Connie’s name.

  1. I was shocked and so sad when I read this today. We’ve been friends and playmates since I can remember. She was a wonderful friend! We laughed and had so much fun being playmates.I think all of us girls were a handful for our parents! We got to see each other a lot growing up. I got to spend a couple of hours with her after Roundup 2 years ago- we had a great visit! Jessie-Marion- Debbie- my heart breaks for you all. She was my friend from forever.   2. Connie was my Friend, we both were Dietary Managers and we offen called or texted with ideas or questions.
    We traveled together to Food shows, the last trip was to New Orleans…myself, Connie, & Kim (we had the best time)
    Connie will be missed by many, she was kind, Friendly and a Loving
    person. May God Bless the Family & give them Comfort.

  3. Connie and I worked together in the AISD food service and I was privileged to know her mom and dad and her kids. Connie had a wonderful laugh and we’d tell stories and was great time. Then I moved to outside of Houston and lost touch. I just can’t believe she’s gone . She’s in a wonderful place with God now.

My prayers are for the family of Connie she was definitely the sweetest nicest lady I ever met & she loved her family so much & it showed how important they were to her & a proud mama & grandma , daughter , sister a very special lady ,she has a smile that lights up a room I feel honored that I had the opportunity to meet her and be a part of her life for a while , she was certainly a angel here on earth & now she’s in the arms of Jesus I just love her so much , God may Bless all of you kids & everyone in her family

  5. Connie was one of my favorite people at Swisher Memorial Hospital. Her staff loved and respected her, as did all of the employees. She visited each patient to make sure the meal was satisfactory to them. She was extremely kind to my family when our daddy died. I prayed for her to have a healing miracle and now she has the best. Sympathy to Connie’s family and friends. I’ll miss her smile. Linda Gales
