Eli was born on October 26, 2004 in Amarillo, Texas, to Kristy Romero and Orlando Garza.

Eli had a huge smile for everyone. He was always smiling, laughing, and playing goofy pranks on everyone. He loved his family, every member of his huge family. Eli’s hugs were clumsy and heavy, but they left your heart feeling loved. He was a gamer, and he was very good at it. Eli was so unique, that is why he felt out of place. But Eli loved being unique and knew that was one of his best qualities.

Eli is survived by his mother, Kristy Romero (Noe Jr. Dominguez) of Amarillo, Texas; his father, Orlando Garza of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Izyiah Garza (Isabel Castro) of Amarillo, Texas; grandmother, Germaine Padilla of Amarillo, Texas; grandfather, Larry Romero (Heather Romero) of Amarillo, Texas; grandfather, Cruz Garza of Amarillo, Texas; a great-grandfather, Pete Padilla of Hereford, Texas; a great-grandmother, Mary Romero of Amarillo, Texas; and many Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.

  1. Elijah was my student in US History. I was very sad when he told me he was leaving to go to school somewhere else this past December. He was quiet and reserved but I could tell in his eyes that he would smile back at me beneath his mask when I greeted him at the classroom door. We connected over shared interest in music and video games. I am terribly saddened to hear of his passing and I extend my condolences to his family.

  2. I was Honored and Blessed to work and get to know your Beautiful Respectful Baby Boy at Amigos. He was such an awesome young man.
