Besides spending time with her family and friends, Elizabeth loved to attend the Amarillo Symphony and supported the orchestra for over twenty years. She also enjoyed watching tennis, horse-racing, bowling and true crime programs on television. She also loved to play board games that challenged the mind, such as Scrabble, and often found herself watching home improvement shows while giving her own commentary as to what she would do differently based on her life experience as an interior decorator. She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter and sister as well as a lover of all animals.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church located at 4100 S Coulter St. on Monday, August 23rd at 11:00 am. This will be followed by a graveside service at Llano Cemetery at 2900 S Hayes St. in Amarillo, TX. Mass will be live-streamed for those out of town who cannot attend at: https://amarillo.church/live

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: www.missionk9rescue.org, an organization aimed at reuniting working dogs with their former handlers upon the dog’s retirement from the military or other organizations.

  1. Celeste and Christina,

Having lost my father this year, I can imagine the pain you’re in quite easily. I’m so terribly sorry for your loss. I know no matter what you’re never prepared. You are in my prayers. I am very sorry I missed the service today. Love and hugs to you both!

  2. She was my second mother. Her baby, Christina, was my first baby that I fed and diapered. I hate that this generation is passing. I love them all.

    1. We love them all too. I know mom didn’t respond, but her breathing eased when she heard your voice. It was a true blessing.

  3. I don’t know what to say except that she deeply influenced me in so many ways with her poise, style and grace. Heaven has gained an elegant Angel for sure. 💐
    Anne
