Garey Dale Vinson, Jr., 45, of Amarillo, TX passed away on September 6, 2021.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 10, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Bobby Harris officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M., at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Garey was born in Perryton, TX on August 18, 1976, to Irene and Garey Vinson. He graduated from Clarendon High School.

Garey worked for Excel for the last 13 years as a working foreman. He was loved by his work family and was a member of the Elk’s Club.

Garey enjoyed shooting skeet, fishing, hunting, and riding in the mountains, but his greatest joy was spending time with his son Brayden.  He was a wonderful son, friend, and father.

Survivors include his son, Brayden Vinson, of Canyon, TX; mother, Irene Arnold and husband Tim, of Amarillo, TX; father, Garey Vinson, of Clarendon, TX; stepsisters, Jaime Vinson, of Clarendon, TX, Jessica Mathers of Amarillo, TX; and brother, Andrew Vinson.

I’m sorry that I could not make it I only knew Garey for about 3 years I thought he heated me the first time I worked with him because he was pushing us so hard in a snow storm but it turned out that I was guilty by association lol and he always told me that I need to better than where I’m working and I was to smart for this he kept pushing and I will keep trying to better myself

    Mike and I are very sorry for the loss of Garey Jr. We won’t be able to make the funeral but you guys are in our thoughts and prayers. This is very hard lose a family member to this horrible virus. Brayden did a heroic job calling 911 and helping his dad.
