  1. I had not heard of John’s passing until today. I send my condolences to the entire family. I went to work at the coke plant in 1974 and got to meet John O. Sr., & John O. Jr. both wonderful, sweet men. I also knew John III, Jeff, and Jim, but my best memories are of Katie. She was in kindergarten or first grade with my son (Alan Loy Newman) and she took very good care of him that year. She was and I’m sure still is a very cute, sweet person. I am sorry for your loss. Hugs and Prayers

  2. I grew up in Dalhart and the older Colquitt twins were my heroes as the Dalhart Wolves fielded their greatest team in 1963. In 2013 I worked with Joel Hogue to coordinate the team’s richly deserved 50th anniversary and Decade of Dominance reunion. John and Jeff were there as was their lovely mother and most of the team and coaches. Sadly, some have passed on since that glorious return to Dalhart. I interacted with John frequently in coordinating that reunion. My brother Craig and I offer our most sincere condolences to John’s family. Heaven is waiting for one of the greatest of the Dalhart Wolves. Kevin Lovell, El Paso
