Peggy June Blackwell, 74, of Amarillo, TX passed away on December 23, 2021.

Memorial services will be at noon, Monday, December 27, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Peggy was born in Amarillo, TX on December 29, 1946, to Mary and Thomas Neese. She grew up in Amarillo.

Peggy worked for K-Bob’s Steakhouse for over 30 years in Childress, TX. She was a hard worker and enjoyed getting up early and drinking coffee. Peggy also enjoyed nursing her plants and flowers during the summer seasons. She and Jim especially loved playing in their pool with all of the kids and grandkids.

Peggy loved her family very much.

She was preceded in death by her companion, Jim Ross; son, Richard Blackwell; and sister, Ann McPhail.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry Blackwell and wife Donna, of Meridian, MS, and Dale Blackwell, of Childress; daughter, Pam Bellah, of Amarillo, TX; brothers, Glenn Neese, of El Reno, OK, and Danny Neese, of Waxahachie, TX; sisters, Mattie Johnson, of Rockport, TX, and Joni Langham, of Rockport, TX; grandchildren, Shayla and husband Marty, Dylan, Amber, Slade, Kaylee, Taylor, T.J., Cameron, and Layla; and great-grandchildren, Kelcyn, Maddox, Emma, Kayt, Cutter, Sophie, and one on-the-way.

  1. I loved this sweet lady so much. She and I kept in contact over the years. Ricky left us on a Thursday in December as well. I know they are rejoicing now even as we mourn. I love y’all. YOu are all in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. I am sorry for your loss. I did not know that she was that ill. I went to school with her at tascosa. This breaks my heart. I know she was heart broken when her son passed. I loved her dearly. I very special memories of her. She was very special.

    1. Very sweet lady she will be missed. She liked her job and done it well. I haven’t seen her for several years but do remember her smile and positive attitude she like to get things done!
