Randal “Randy” Todd Furnas, 62, of Amarillo, TX died on September 20, 2021, at BSA Hospital in Amarillo from complications after recently battling illness and cancer. Forever loved by family and close friends, Randy took his last ride into the arms of his Savior on Monday morning with Brandi, his earthly angel, by his side.

Born in Dallas, TX on February 7, 1959, Randy came into this world as a sweet hearted free spirit, possibly best remembered in his teen years as a true rebel after riding his motorcycle through the halls of Tascosa High School in the 70’s. He was truly one of a kind.

Randy lived in Amarillo, TX the majority of his life, respected for his work ethic at Wheelabrator for over 15 years, followed by a successful roofing company and then later fully engulfed in his passion of Harleys by buying and selling parts, servicing and riding them!

Randy is survived by his mother, Dani Hermesmeyer; four sisters, Roni, Susan, Vicki, and Sheri; his daughter, Holli; son-in-law, Nick; grandchildren, Jacob, Christian, and Nichole; his angel, Brandi; and many others who held Randy dear to their hearts (including Martin, his cat.)

Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 24, 2021, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 14200 Texas Plains Trl., I-27, in Amarillo, TX. All are welcome who knew and loved Randy.

  1. I have just now found this information and I have to say I am deeply saddened. I rode with Randy a few times, one of those times my GF and I were at Sturgis on a group ride and with probably 500 motorcycles in the parking lot, somehow, he saw our Texas license plates and plowed his way thru the crowd just to say hello and asked what part of Texas are you guys from? We said Amarillo, and he said No S**T!! We rode with Randy the rest of the day all over the Black Hills. He was a helluva good rider and a helluva good friend!

R.I.P. Randy. Your work here on Earth is complete.

  2. Thank you to all who helped us celebrate Randy either in person at his graveside service, or in your hearts… or who shared a comment on here. It is great comfort to our family to know Randy was well loved. He was truly one of a kind and no doubt one hell of an Angel now, shining his light down or possibly messing with a few close friends just because….Randy is your Angel 😉 Thank you for living life with him…truly the greatest compliment you can give a person!

  3. Sending heartfelt condolences, Loving thoughts, & Prayers, to all of your family & friends. Love to you, my loving friend! I’ve always appreciated your brutal honesty (laughing), & wicked sense of humor. I’ll miss you so much…..RIP, Randy, XXOO.

  4. Can’t believe it.

You weren’t alone on that ride down the hallway at Tascosa. I still can’t believe we were never caught on that one. You were the brother I always wanted. We went through so much together. Running away from home, getting politely asked to continue our education elsewhere, dealing with the racial issues in high school, you falling out of the truck in Hell week, having to finish at a new high school, working together at McDonald’s, the gas station, and construction at the Tolk Station. Anything of significance from 15-20 we were side by side. Yet, even after I moved away we never went more than a month or two without catching up. I admired your courage, your honesty, and your conviction to your principles. Mostly your loyalty and the knowledge that you always had my back. I’m thankful to have had you as my friend. Thanks for always being there. Flash and the Kid forever.
