Carla Vanessa Turner Norberg, 67, of Amarillo died on Friday, February 11, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 118 S. Van Buren St., with Bishop Warren Coble officiating.

Carla was born on December 18, 1955. Her parents were the late J.W. and Annabelle Turner. She was a graduate of Tascosa High school and attended Baylor University earning a music and business degree.
She accepted Christ as her savior early in her life. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and enjoyed worship with others through praise, song, dance, and loving Grace and Mercy of her Lord.

She was united in marriage to Michael Allen Norberg in Amarillo, Texas. Of this union, two children were born.

Carla was employed by Texas Employment Commission, and Amarillo Country Club and served as a Membership Secretary and Public Relations Coordinator.
Carla had a loving, fun-filled spirit. She enjoyed time with her children, family, and friends Some of her past times were reading, watching TV and movies, consignment and antique shopping, classical and spiritual music. She was a very loving dog lover to Rowdy, Angel, and Sweet Pea.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents J.W. and Annabelle Turner, Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Pat Childs, a Cousin Carrol Larue Turner House, of Columbus, Ohio.

Survivors include her beloved sons; Michael Dakota Norberg of Casper, Wyoming, J.W. Allen Norberg, of Denver, Colorado; her former husband Michael Allen Norberg, and wife Pamela of Casper, Wyoming. Cousins; Lillie Turner Davis Mitchell, of Amarillo, Earnest (Willie Mae) Turner, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Allen D Turner Jr of Columbus, Ohio, James Leon Turner, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Theodore (Azzie) Turner Jr, of Glendale, Arizona, and a host of loving friends and neighbors.

  2. Carla was a sweet and caring person. She attended Mount Zion Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of Pastor James Collins. She was a faithful member until her health started to fail her. Rest in peach Carla. Praying for her family. ❤️🙏🏾✝️

  3. Carla was my dearest best friend who I loved and cared for, for 5 years. She loved everyone who tended to her and was sweetest person. I will miss her greatly. Rest in peace my dear Carla.
