Billie Eugene “Gene” Srader, 93, of Dumas, died Saturday, April 3, 2021.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox with Rev. Gerald Clark and Rev. Randy Srader officiating.  Burial will be at the Dumas Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.

Gene was born on March 22, 1928 in Bethel, Ok. to Ruel and Cora Srader.  He worked for Ameican Zinc for 28 years and as a mechanic and farmer.  He was a founding member and deacon at Bible Baptist Church.  He taught Sunday school and helped with maintenance of the church buses.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Sue Srader and a son-in-law, Larry Kopp.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Kopp of Dumas and Darla Vaught Davis and husband Duane of Canyon; two sons, Steve Vaught and wife Brenda of Littlefield and Johnny Srader and wife Kim of North Richland Hills; ten grandchildren, Michael Vaught and wife Stephanie, Mitchell Vaught and wife Dinah, Matthew Vaught and wife Sara, Tara Stavenhagen and Chris Goodwin, Ricky Davis and wife Taylor, Savannah Peach and husband Brady, Jennifer Kopp Jones and husband Brian, Matthew Kopp and wife Christine, Kyska Spurlock and husband Tim, Kagun Srader and wife Kim; twenty-five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses on the second floor at Moore County Hospital and suggests memorials be to the Moore County Senior Citizens, 701 E. 16th st. Dumas, Texas  79029 or to Moore County Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, Texas  79029.

  1. Uncle Gene was one of a kind. As a young lad I use to love. To follow him around. He was always patient and kind. My Dad, mom, uncle William , Aunt Pauline ,Aunt Dorothy , Uncle Melvin , Aunt Norma , Aunt Annie are having a great time tonight. Love to all.
