Bonnie was born on January 11, 1931 in Guymon, Oklahoma, to Oscar Hall Lening and Nettie Lou Quesenbury. Bonnie was the youngest of eight children. She married H. G. “Bud” Connally in Spearman, Texas, on February 22, 1948. Bud and Bonnie were married for 62 years before Bud’s passing in 2010. Together they had two sons, Randy and Ron. They were both devout Christians and long-time members at San Jacinto.
Bonnie was a passionate educator with a Master’s degree in Education. She taught many years in AISD at Hamlet, Margaret Wills and Wolflin, retiring in 1993. Since then, Bonnie has filled her time serving at the church, cooking many Sunday meals for her family, taking trips and playing dominos. She enjoyed quilting and having lunch with her Birthday Club ladies.
Lastly, it would be remiss to not mention her best companion, Lucy! Bonnie and Lucy became quite the pair over the last several years, never more than a foot apart – and probably Bonnie’s favorite “child”, if we’re honest.
She was preceded in death by her son Ron Connally and her grandson Brett Connally.
She will live on through her family, son Randy Connally and wife Christy; Daughter-in-Law Tina Connally; Linda Connally; Grandchildren Rendi Bonner and husband Jamie, of Shalimar, Florida; Cari Morrison, Brennan Connally and wife Leah, and Colby Morrison, all of Amarillo; Kalee Nofsinger and husband Jonathan of Dallas and Natalie Connally of Overland Park, Kansas. She also had eight great grandchildren, Maddie, Coulson, Roxie, Grady, Channing, Zac, Jaetin and Sabree – and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
