Flora Pinales, 97, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021.

Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Panhandle, TX.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Flora was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Puerto de Luna, NM to Jose and Guadalupe Zamora.

She enjoyed taking casseroles and playing cards with the Over 55 Club and her Panhandle Floozies Red Hatter club.  Flora also enjoyed traveling and casinos.

She retired from Pantex and was a wonderful homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose C. Zamora and Guadalupe; brothers, Eloy Zamora and Martin Zamora; husband, Bert Pinales; and sons, Raymond and Michael.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Maggi, of Amarillo, TX; sons, Richard Maggi, of San Francisco, CA, David Pinales and wife Elaine, of Amarillo, TX and Phillip Pinales and James Pinales, both of San Marcos, TX; sisters, Toni Brasher and Fabiola Fritz, both of Panhandle, TX; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 nephews; 1 niece; and many other family and friends.

Family visitation will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials to High Plains Food Bank, PO Box 31803, Amarillo, TX 79120; or to a favorite charity.

    Julie, Flora & Toni. I always remember Flora coming by Mama Juanita’s house and to my Mom’s house to visit. She always made us laugh. She will be missed.

  2. Julie, I enjoyed her coming over one summer to drink morning coffee on my patio. Such was such a gracious lovely woman.

  4. Julie, Richard and David, I’m so sorry to see about mama passing away. I loved her during the time I got to know her. I’m so glad I got to know her and Bert. They are both dearly missed. Love and miss you guys.
