Guy Sanders, 91, passed away peacefully in Amarillo, Texas on February 20, 2022.
Services are planned for a later date so family can gather for the celebration of life.
Guy was born on July 27, 1930, in Seagraves, Texas to Earnest Alvis Sanders and Ada Etta McMurtry Sanders. He married Audine Counts on June 12, 1950, at Center Street Methodist Church in Tucumcari, New Mexico. The family attended Trinity Baptist Church in Tucumcari for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and his wife of 66 years, Audine Sanders.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Croy and husband Larry of Happy, TX; 3 sons, Larry Sanders and wife Marinel of Amarillo, TX, Ricky Sanders and wife Pamela of Tucumcari, NM, and John Sanders and wife Tanna, of Tucumcari, NM. They were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo, TX.
Rest in paradise Uncle Guy. Your trips to Clovis for Long John Silvers are always a fond memory for me. You were always calm and patient. The way you cared for your “sis” and all the years of caring for your loving wife have stayed with me forever. Prayers for the family.
