Makayla Ann Tijerina, 5, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on December 2, 2021.
Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, December 9, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount.
Makayla was born in Amarillo, TX on April 26, 2016, to Michael Joe Tijerina and Jody LeAnn Geopfert.
Makayla attended Alice Landergin Elementary. She enjoyed going to school and learning, jumping on her trampoline, riding her scooter, singing and dancing, and going fishing. Most of all she enjoyed being with family and friends. Makayla loved everyone and saw the good in everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Ralph Tijerina; her great-grandma, Cassie Simpson; her aunt, Susan Geopfert; and her puppy, Abby, whom she loved very much.
She survived by her parents, Michael Tijerina and Jody Geopfert; grandparents, Pam and Bernard Kelly, Dolores and Shannon Philips, and Joe Geopfert; her godparents, Brandy and Shelby Lacouture; her aunts and uncles, Steven Geopfert, Kyle and Keely Tijerina, Danielle and Eric Jones, and Bubba and Megan Winchester; great-aunts and great-uncles, Luis Tijerina, Becky and Rudy Murguia, Margaret and Manuel Vallejo, Debbie Bullock, Kathy Propest, Bobbie Simpson, and Jerry and Darlene Tijerina; and by many cousins, second cousins, and friends that were close whom she truly loved.

I wanted to share a memory I met this precious little girl at the races. She was so sweet, polite, and giving. She gave a pop it to my lil Emma and played with her. She will be missed and will remember her fondly every time I’m at the races. Prayers to mom and dad it will not be easy to go through life without your baby. She will be with you forever in your heart and memories.
