Milford “Mac” McNeely, 89, formerly of Cabot, AR passed away on March 8, 2022. Mac moved to Canyon, TX in early 2020 to be near his son and family.
Milford was born in Flemington, MO on October 1, 1932, to Leta and Hayden McNeely. He served in the United States Air Force. After 20 years of service, he retired and settled in Arkansas. He worked as an expert mechanic for the next 20 years of his life until retirement. Before he left Cabot, his favorite pastime was to eat breakfast daily at a diner named Cheryl’s, where he was a regular favorite with the waitresses. They always knew that Mac would greet them with a “Hey Babe” and leave a special tip. He also loved to have an afternoon beer on his porch. Mac’s sense of humor and laugh will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Carolyn McNeely, his parents, and nearly all of his brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his son, Virgil McNeely (Renee), his two stepchildren, Kristin Elliott Linn (Steve) and Steven Glenn Elliott, his brother, Rodney McNeely, 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family will have a private ceremony when they fulfill his wish to have his ashes spread in Missouri, the same resting place as his dear departed wife.
The world just won’t be the same without Mac in it! He was definitely one of a kind, with his goofy sense of humor and his willingness to lend a helping hand when needed. We shared the same birthday and celebrated together when we could. I will miss him.
He will definitely be missed. Beautiful obituary
