Raymond Sanchez, at the age of 73, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 11, 2020.

Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Viewing will be available from 9:00 A.M.- 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

He was born in Houston Texas, lived in Ohio from 1970 to 1979, and eventually moved to Cactus. The last eight years of his life, he returned to his Texas roots in Amarillo.

Raymond loved to have fun, laugh, and listen to music. There was a lot of Tejano dancing in his time, which he passed on that bug to his oldest daughter. Fishing was another great pastime in his earlier years.  Raymond had a huge heart and was always lending a hand to help others.

He married the love of his life, Audelia, in 2000. They were married for 20 years. His previous marriage to Clara, gave him 3 children.

He was a member of Cornerstone Church.

Raymond was preceded in death by his mother Henrietta, brother Jessie, daughter Crystal, and grandson Jesse Raymond.

Raymond is survived by his family who loved him so much and will miss him dearly; his wife Lela, his oldest daughter Angie Ascencio and husband Francisco, Lupita Sanchez and fiance Kelly Cooper. Grandchildren Crystal Sanchez, Cryselda Barron, Jonathan Guillen, Noe Barron Jr, and wife Toni, Alexa Guillen, Christabel Guillen. Raymond also had 6 great-grandchildren: Malakai Rodriguez, Zechariah Rodriguez, Galeilea Sanchez, Geana Villegas, Kat Battye, Chloe Battye, Luna Guillen, Zaedance Timmons, Zemerii Barron.

Instead of the traditional meal, following the celebration of Raymonds life, the family requests your presence in honoring him at his favorite restaurant Golden Corral, immediately following the service.
