Sherryl Lynne Skinner, 74, of Dumas, passed away from this world on November 27, 2020.  She passed away following a long battle with dementia.  Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Earth Cemetery with Chris Fobb officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox

Sherryl was born o June 22, 1946 in Pauls Valley, Ok. to William Arthur Lingle and Wanda Alice Lingle (Sheppard).  She attended Sunray and Dumas High Schools.  She graduated from Dumas High School in 1964.  She married Loyd Skinner on August 24, 1971 forming the blended family of her son, Stephen F. Henthorn Jr. and Loyd’s daughters Brenda and Laqueta Skinner.  Sherry was known for her excellent home cooking, sewing, and needlework.  Of her accomplishments, she was very proud of her service to the volunteer EMS service at Earth, Tx.  She had earned her license as an EMT-Intermediate and used it to help people in need.  She was very dedicated to her family and community.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Wanda; father, William; and brother, Melvin Wheeler.  Her father was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War where he was killed in the line of duty.

Sherryl is survived by her husband, Loyd, of 49 years; son, Stephen F. Henthorn Jr. and wife Kristi of Clayton, Nm.; two step daughters, Laqueta West and Brenda Barr and husband Michael, all of Dumas; two sisters, Rhonda Webb of Carrolton, Mo. and Terressa Isbell of Odessa; three brothers, Dennis Lingle of Villa Rica, Ga., Terry Lingle of Delmar, Md., and John Proctor Jr. of Lindale, Tx.; grandchildren, Tiffany West of Waco, Jennifer Caraway of Amarillo, Joshua Caraway, Justin, and Jayde of Clovis, Nm.; and a great grandchild, Aldus of Amarillo.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Phaedra, Dulce, and Veronica.
