Terry R. Jochim, age 73, of Amarillo, TX passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, following a brief illness. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, with the Rosary being said at 6:00 P.M., in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. A Catholic Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 24, 2021, in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, in Amarillo, TX. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery with military honors in Canyon, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. 

He was born on September 24, 1947, in Sacramento, CA to the late Sebastian and Julia Jochim. 

Terry was an Air Force Veteran and retired after 38 years of Federal Service. He was an avid cattleman and greatly contributed to the cattle industry being President and Executive Director for the California Beef Cattle Improvement Association. It was a great honor for him to be the Deputy Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus Council 4621, working tirelessly on projects with fellow Knights. 

He enjoyed sharing his extensive knowledge and passion for wine with all. That joy for wine took him and Brenda to travel around Italy on two occasions. He did everything with conviction and dedication that surpassed most people, with humility and a generous loving heart. 

He is survived by the love of his life, Brenda; son, Brian Jochim (Rose) of Bend, OR; daughter, Ginger Fontes (Mat) of Chicken, AK; three siblings, Dennis, Bobby, and Mark; four grandchildren, Alyshia, Anthony, Mathew, and Lucian; and four great-grandchildren.

  1. Terry’s wisdom and voice of reason will be missed. He was a tireless supporter of agriculture in general and the beef business in particular. His lifetime of service is an example for all of us.

  2. My dear cousin and friend called me often to “check on me.” He was so thoughtful and caring, always visiting aunts and uncles to when he lived in California to keep them in his life. I will miss him a lot.

  3. Our hearts are breaking for you, Brenda. Anyone who knew Terry finds comfort because we know the wonderful home his soul is now. We will be there for you, Brenda, to walk with you through this valley of grief. Pat and I love you and you know how much we loved Terry!

    My prayers are with you. Terry was a very special person, and he will be missed by everyone. I’m sure he is looking down from heaven at his “little bit”. Prayers and blessings for you, the girls and all of his family.

  5. Terry was such a hard worker and he was a researcher for every project, but when that job was done it was to perfection. He was such a great neighbor and I will miss him. My deepest condolences to Brenda, she will miss him the most. God Bless you both.

  7. John and I enjoyed our friendship with Terry. He was always so happy and we loved chatting with him. Such a wonderful man, Lea inch this world too soon, but surely with the saints amd angels with his loving God now.
