
Beth Thomas, 89, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, October 4, 2020.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo, TX.
Beth was born April 18, 1931, in Amarillo, TX to O.A. and Erah Blankenship. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949 and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from West Texas State University. She briefly taught in Dumas, was a homemaker, and owned Camp Lane Self Storage. She was a very talented artist, was very involved in Amarillo Fine Arts, and a signature member of the Pastel Society of America.
Beth was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Thomas; and her husband, Ralph Thomas.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Thomas and wife Vickie, of Amarillo, TX, and Kelly Thomas and wife Judy, of Littleton, CO; a daughter, Melanie Singleton, of Amarillo, TX; a daughter-in-law, Sue Thomas, of Katy, TX; ten grandchildren, Shelly Singleton, Brian Singleton and wife Savannah, Rose Hopkins, Cherie Scholz and husband Tyson, Matt Thomas and wife Kathryn, Rita Epp and husband Jeran, Andy Thomas and wife Christina, Ralph Thomas, Danny Cruz, and Cecilia Alcala and husband Eddie; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to West Texas A&M University Art Department; or to Harrington Cancer Center.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm, Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at the funeral home.
